The Leibniz Institute for Regional Development and Structural Planning (IRS) in Erkner (near Berlin) invites applicants for a
PhD Position (50% TV-L E 13)
fixed-term, three years (extension possible) in the research department "Dynamics of Economic Spaces".
Tasks: The successful applicant will contribute to the research department’s lead project "Sources and Paths of Innovation", which started in January, 1st 2012. He or she is expected to conduct qualitative case studies on innovation processes in creative/cultural industries and/or in the field of user-induced innovation.
Qualifications: Excellent graduation (equivalent to Master) in a discipline relevant for the research department (human geography, social sciences, economy or planning), methodological expertise in qualitative fieldwork, theoretical interest in organization science, science and technology studies, communities of practice and the spatiality of innovation processes. The position is open for national and international applicants. The successful candidate should be able to communicate in German and English.
Salary: The salary is based on the German federal public service scale (TV-L E 13, 50%).
