The largest accounting and auditing research group in Northern Europe, the Department of Accounting and Auditing at Copenhagen Business School invites applications for one or more PhD scholarship(s). We offer attractive terms both in terms of research environment, social environment, remuneration, and opportunities for following own research interests.

Furthermore we offer the opportunity to have longer research stays at other European or American top universities and thus the opportunity to work with top international experts within your field.

We continuously seek a broad academic profile and therefore welcome applications from all candidates regardless of academic background as long as the applicant can demonstrate a genuine interest in doing research within one of the three fields (1) Financial Accounting, (2) Management Accounting and (3) Auditing, which are the core research and teaching areas of the Department.

Consequently we encourage any application which demonstrates such genuine interest. Interest can be demonstrated via a description of one specific idea for a PhD project or via short descriptions of several less specific ideas which can materialize in more specific ideas at a later stage.

We encourage original ideas based on current debates within the accounting and auditing professions but strongly advise you to relate these ideas to recent developments in leading academic accounting and auditing journals. Candidates who are already in touch with a potential co-supervisor (high-profile) from another university are also welcome.

The three-year PhD programme at CBS allows you to conduct research under the supervision of CBS professors, supported by research training courses. The programme is highly international, and you are expected to participate in international research conferences and to spend time abroad as a visiting PhD student.
