The Technical University of Munich (TUM) invites applications for the position of
Associate Professor in » Medicinal Radiochemistry «
to begin as soon as possible. The position is a tenured W3 position.
The professorship belongs to the TUM School of Medicine. TUM School of Medicine is one of Germany’s top medical schools in
research and in teaching. The professor will be Head of Radiochemistry at the Department of Nuclear Medicine of the university hospital Klinikum rechts der Isar.
The professorship is associated with the leadership of an independent project group within the Center for Translational Cancer Research
(TranslaTUM). Close interactions with the radiopharmaceutical GMP facility of the School of Medicine (TUM Cells), the Comprehensive
Cancer Center Munich (CCCM), the German Cancer Consortium (DKTK) as well as other German Health Centers are desirable.
The responsibilities include research and teaching as well as the promotion of early-career scientists. We seek to appoint an expert in
the research area of radiochemistry and molecular imaging. The teaching load includes courses in the subject area and the basic
courses offered by the department as well as courses for other academic TUM departments.
We expect commitment to applications for research networks (DFG, BMBF, EU) dealing with innovative diagnostic and therapeutic strategies.
Furthermore, integration into the Munich School of Bioengineering is anticipated. If qualified, the professor will be responsible for the
GMP production of radiopharmaceuticals at the Klinikum rechts der Isar.
We are looking for a candidate with advanced scientific experience, proven by achievements in research and teaching at the highest
international standards. A university degree and an outstanding doctoral degree or equivalent scientific qualification as well as
pedagogical aptitude, including the ability to teach in English, are also prerequisites. Substantial research experience abroad is
expected. Experience in GMP production of radiopharmaceuticals is desirable.
Based on best international standards and transparent performance criteria, TUM offers a merit-based academic career option for tenure
track faculty from the permanent position as Associate Professor on to Full Professor. The regulations of the TUM Faculty Recruitment and Career System apply.
TUM provides excellent working conditions in a lively scientific community, embedded in the vibrant research environment of the Greater
Munich Area. As a rule, the holder of this professorship is not employed as a "Beamter" under German law.
