Was Sie mitbringen
  • Experience with C++/C# and object-oriented programming
  • Experience with Matlab (experience with Python is a plus, but not a must).
  • Good knowledge of robotics (kinematic and dynamic modelling), automation technology and sample-based motion planning algorithms is desirable (experience with OMPL is a plus, but not a must).
  • Experiences with robot path generation and industrial robot programming are helpful.
  • Very good knowledge of German and/or English in spoken and written way.
  • Motivation, creativity, self-dependent working, abstract thinking and problem solving skills.
  • Commitment and teamwork (Experience with Scrum planning is recommended).

Was Sie erwarten können
Description:

Automatic and optimal motion generation is one of the key challenges in robotics for having complete autonomous systems. Industrial robots have been successfully implemented in large-scale companies but its implementation in SMEs is constrained due to its complex programming. In response to this problem, autonomy is programmed to industrial robot processes, such as welding, milling and deburring by using knowledge-based modelling and optimal sample-based motion planning algorithms which are a nowadays a trend in the robotics community. The internship focuses on the further development of functions, models, and algorithms of an internally developed CAM software for programming completely automatically industrial robot manufacturing cells.

Your Tasks:
  • Implementation of functions, models and algorithms for the optimal motion planning of robotic manufacturing using sample-based methods such as singularity avoidance, robot redundancy optimization and unreachability avoidance.
  • Benchmarking of optimal sample-based motion planning algorithms [i.e. RRT, T-RRT, PRM, SPARS2, FMT*] for the intuitive and automatic programming of robotic manufacturing.
  • Evaluation of the implemented algorithms in real robot cells for evaluating process quality and programming efficient [Reis for welding, Kuka KR270 for machining and deburring].
  • Software programming on the robot simulation environment, GUI and robot program generation.

The position is offered for a period of 6 months.
A certification from the University for compulsory internship is required.
