The Center for Integrative Bioinformatics Vienna (CIBIV) is recruiting a PhD student: the candidate should have a Master degree in Bioinformatics or related areas (physics, chemistry, mathematics).
Furthermore, knowledge of the fundamentals of statistics, linear algebra and sequencing data analysis is also an advantage. It is also required that the candidate has knowledge of molecular biology, biochemistry and organic chemistry in order to understand complex experimental designs in model and non-model organisms.

teaching to the extent of the collective agreement provisions and administration - contribute to research projects / scientific studies - and contribute to publications / scientific
Also, the successful candidate is expected to complete her/his dissertation agreement within 12-18 months.
The ideal candidate is expected to analyse genomic data in order to answer specific biological questions. The candidate will develop and maintain working bioinformatics pipelines for the analysis of next generation sequencing data.
- Participation in teaching and independent teaching of courses as defined by the collective agreement

- Involvement in the department administration as well as in
teaching, research administration and project management.
Knowledge of the fundamentals of statistics, linear algebra, basic algorithms and sequence data analysis is also a must.
It is further required that the candidate has the necessary
knowledge of molecular biology, biochemistry and organic chemistry to understand complex experimental designs in model and non-model organisms.
The candidate is also expected to have firm knowledge on machine learning, data science and evolutionary game theory.
