Department Chair - Biology
The Nazarbayev University School of Science and Technology is inviting applications for the position of Chair of the Department of Biology. The Chair will report to the Dean and is empowered to lead the education and research programs of the department.
Position responsibilities include cultivation of the departmental research agenda, recruitment of faculty members, teaching an average load of one course per semester, curricular and program development and monitoring, and other activities related to the intellectual and cultural environment of the university.
The applicant must have a Ph.D. degree from a reputable research university, a demonstrated ability for research and administration, excellent English-language communication skills and a commitment to teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
