Chair (W3) of Theoretical Chemistry

TU Dresden is seeking an outstanding theoretical chemist with expertise in research and teaching. The successful candidate will contribute to the teaching program in chemistry. This will include teaching of undergraduate and graduate students (in German) as well students from other faculties (subsidiary subjects - in German and in English). The duties include participation in academic selfadministration.
Candidates must have relevant teaching experience and a strong record of research accomplishments. The ability to obtain external research funding and to publish in highly-ranked, peer-reviewed journals as well as conference presentations is expected. The interest in contributing to complementary programs (Collaborative Research Centres, Research Units, Center for Advancing Electronics Dresden) and the ability to cooperate with non-university research institutes is required. The successful candidate is expected to contribute towards research, teaching, and transfer, and to perform research in an area that develops and complements ongoing efforts at TU Dresden. The candidate needs skills to initiate collaborations with outstanding colleagues, both internal and external. Excellent computational facilities to support the candidate exist within the Theoretical Chemistry Section and at TU Dresden. Habilitation or a comparable qualification is a prerequisite. Applicants must fulfil the employment qualification requirements § 58 of the Act Governing Academic Freedom in Higher Education in the Free State of Saxony ((Saxon Academic Freedom in Higher Education Act - SächsHSFG).
