Reference Number 2020/200. The start date is January 1st, 2021 or by agreement. The position is
available for three years.

In the Hartig group at the University of Konstanz a PhD position (E 13 TV-L, part-time 65%) is offered. The PhD project is part of the collaborative
research center 969 (SFB 969) at the University of Konstanz and is concerned with the development of synthetic RNA switches for controlling
gene expression in eukaryotic model organisms. RNA motifs such as aptamers and ribozymes can be combined and introduced into mRNAs in
order to control its gene expression. The project is located in the field of synthetic biology where RNA motifs can be combined in a Lego-like
fashion in order to engineer plug-and-play designer switches of gene expression.
