Methodologically, we combine state-of-the-art functional analysis (e.g. optogenetics,
in vivo / in vitro electrophysiology, Ca
2+ imaging, Seahorse, behavioural analysis), with high-end cell-specific molecular and immunohistochemistry techniques (e.g. tracing, confocal, STED, Multiphoton-Microscopy, RNAScope, CRISPR/Cas9, and single-cell transcriptomics).
The successful applicant has the opportunity to apply for own grants, and to build up his/her own
independent line of research, and is expected to lead the Immunohistochemistry laboratory. The possibility for a Habilitation (qualification for a professorship) is given. The position is offered initially for three years. Longer funding is possible and desired. Salary, benefits etc. are according to the German TV-L system.
Applicants are expected to be enthusiastic about science,

excellent degrees in neuro-, medical- or life-sciences. Team spirit, capability for independent, self-motivated work, and very good English-skills are required.
Technical expertise in immunohistochemistry, protein biochemistry and microscopy/imaging, or electrophysiology, as well as experience in student-supervision are highly desired. As our medical school teaching takes place in German language only, the
ability to teach in German language is of great advantage.
