The International Office of the University of Göttingen is inviting applications for a full-time position as an
International Marketing Officer
The position is available immediately pending formal administrative approval and is based on a permanent contract. The salary is in accordance with the
German state regulated public service salary scale (E 13 TV-L).
The University of Göttingen is highly reputed throughout the world of academia and research. Over 13% of our students come from abroad and we seek to increase
further the proportion of international students and researchers.
This role will enable the successful candidate to develop and implement international marketing plan and specific recruitment projects across a wide range of
markets in order to recruit high quality international students, as well as increase further the international visibility of the University.
The post holder will work within the International Office of the University, in close cooperation with the Office of Public Relations as well as with Student
and Academic Services. She/He will also be part of the team overseeing the international and English-language web presence of the University and the Göttingen
Campus, and will be involved in developing promotional materials for various target groups, managing the web presence of the International Office, the English-language
social media accounts of the University (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Blog), as well as representing the University on educational fairs abroad.
Required skills:
- A university degree (master)
- Solid and broad foundation in marketing or communications, with at least 3 years of work experience
- Experience in the development and production of marketing materials
- Well versed in various social media channels
- Excellent knowledge of English and German
- Knowledge of MS Office programmes
Desired skills:
- A university degree (master) in social sciences, marketing/communications
- Understanding of higher education trends and knowledge of university structures
- Strong organisational skills, ability to manage independently multiple projects with different stakeholders
- Excellent interpersonal, relationship-building and communication skills
- Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite programmes (esp. Photoshop, Acrobat, Indesign)
- Basic knowledge of HTML, web content management, and Wordpress
