Internship/Thesis in the field 'Future Composites' - 3D Printing
Start-up of a 3D Printer for various thermoplastic materials
Determining the optimal printing parameters as well as the mechanical properties of the printed test parts
Adaptation and characterization of the raw materials
Adjustment of the printing layouts for an optimized material application
Transfer of the determined printing parameters for thermoplastics to composite materials
Eventually characterization of the material regarding the moisture content and shrinkage during a thermal posttreatment
Printing and manufacturing of various parts and test forms Evaluation and documentation of test results
Literature and patent research to identify suitable processes and parameters
Enrolled in studies in the field of material sciences, materials engineering, polymer technologies, physics, chemistry or comparable technical or natural science related topics
First experiences in project management, polymer technologies and/or dealing with file formats such as .STL, .3MF or .OBJ are beneficial
High degree of commitment, autonomous working style and excellent communication skills
Fluent in either German or English (speaking and writing)
Available from mid-February 2019 for a period of 6 to 9 months
