Junior Professorship (W1) with Tenure
Track „Development of Systems for the
Internet-of-Things (IoT-Engineering)“
The Technische Universität Ilmenau, Department of Computer Science and Automation,
invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position in „Development of Systems for the
Internet-of-Things (IoT-Engineering)“, to be filled immediately.
We are looking for an internationally recognized young researcher with excellent didactic
skills. The successful candidate will be expected to cover the development of IoT systems
in a holistic way in research and teaching within the Department of Computer Science and
Automation as well as engage in interdisciplinary collaboration with other departments across
the university.
We welcome applications from scientists with research experience in the following areas:
- IoT systems under consideration of the cyber-physical embedding and HW/SW aspects
- sensory and communication infrastructures for IoT systems
- organisational aspects of IoT systems as self-organization, autonomous operation, data
processing (data analytics, machine learning) and security
- application areas of IoT systems, for example industry 4.0, smart city, smart energy,
connected car, wearables and connected health.
Interdisciplinary research collaboration across the faculty and elsewhere within the University
would be an asset.
In addition to excellent research, teaching of our teaching portfolio (German and English)
in the above mentioned areas as well as participation in the teaching of basics in computer
engineering in the bachelor programmes in computer science and engineering is expected.
Essential requirements are pedagogical aptitude and the willingness to make a significant
contribution to the further development of the study programmes. The successful candidate
will be expected to actively participate in academic self-administration.
