The Institute of Molecular Infection Biology (IMIB, www.imib-wuerzburg.de) at the University of Würzburg (JMU) seeks to recruit a new junior research group leader
in RNA Biology. Research at the IMIB is interdisciplinary and involves studies of
bacteria, viruses, fungi, and eukaryotic host cells, with a strong focus on the role
and application of RNA in understanding, treating, and preventing infectious
diseases. The new group will have ample opportunities to also closely interact
with scientists at the Research Center for Infectious Diseases (ZINF) in Würzburg
and the Helmholtz Institute for RNA-based Infection Research (HIRI), which is
currently located in the same building.
We are looking for:
- Early career researchers, who have earned recognition in RNA
biology/biochemistry/technology
- Preferably candidates in the areas of regulatory RNAs, RNA-protein
interactions, RNA technologies including genome editing, with relevance to
infection biology
- Outstanding scientists with a background and research ideas in
microbiology, immunology, cancer biology, and molecular biology are also
encouraged to apply
We offer:
- An interdisciplinary and international scientific environment with a strong
focus on RNA and infection research:
www.helmholtz-hiri.de/en/research/wuerzburg-rna-ecosystem/ and www.uni-wuerzburg.de/zinf/startseite/
- A collaborative research environment with multiple other young investigator
groups
- Laboratory space in a state-of-the-art research building with biocontainment,
molecular imaging, high-throughput genomics, and animal
facilities
