JUNIOR RESEARCH GROUP LEADER INFECTION BIOLOGY
The Institute for Molecular Infection Biology (IMIB), as part of the Research Center for Infectious Diseases (ZINF) of the University of Würzburg, seeks to recruit a new group leader. We are interested in researchers in the early phase of their career who have already earned recognition in infection biology. Candidates with projects in the area of pathogen-host interactions of medical relevance are preferred, but all outstanding scientists with a background in microbiology, immunology and molecular biology are encouraged to apply. We will also assume an interest in applying single-cell RNA-seq and spatial transcriptomics approaches. The position includes laboratory operating expenses and additional salaries to build an independent research group. We also plan to offer an affiliation with the local Helmholtz Institute for RNA-based Infection Research. Laboratory space will be provided in a state-of-the-art research building with bio-containment, molecular imaging, high-throughput genomics, and animal facilities. The building is specifically designed to foster collaborative research and houses several additional young investigator groups as well as laboratories run by faculty members. See
www.imib-wuerzburg.de and
www.helmholtz-hiri.de for more information.
The position can be filled in full- or part-time as soon as possible and will be initially limited to 5 years. Salary will be based on the pay scale for the public sector in Germany (TV-L) and depends on training and experience. The University aims to increase the proportion of female employees, therefore applications from qualified women are particularly welcome. Preference will be given to handicapped persons in case of otherwise equal aptitude.
Applicants are welcome to
