The University of Konstanz, with its "Institutional Strategy to
promote Top-Level Research", has been receiving continuous
funding since 2007 within the framework of the Excellence
Initiative by the German Federal and State Governments.
The Department of Biology in the Faculty of Sciences is seeking promising
candidates for a
W1-Junior Professorship in
in Aquatic Systems
to be filled from October 2017
The initial appointment as a junior professor is for three years, extendable to
six years after positive evaluation. There is no option for tenure track.
The candidate should be a junior scientist with excellent bio-informatics
skills and a strong track record in research on the response of aquatic communities
to environmental change involving the characterization of environmental
DNA of eukaryotes in water and sediment samples. Her/his research
focus should be strongly connected to the topics of the Research Training
Group "R3 - Responses to biotic and abiotic changes, Resilience and Reversibility
of lake ecosystems" of the University of Konstanz.
