The junior professorship is to be funded in the context of the Einstein Center Digital Future. The professorship is offered
under the reserve that funds are granted.

|TU Berlin aims to strengthen the research and teaching in the area of "Internet of Things for Smart Buildings".
The successful candidate should have research expertise in one or several of the areas Internet of Things, distributed
systems, data analysis and machine learning, or home automation. The focus of research is set on the development
of methods and technologies for processing and evaluation of sensor information in buildings in order to create and
improve technologies for machine-controlled building management. Therefore, the successful candidate needs strong
ability for interdisciplinary research with neighboring research areas from computer science, engineering, and architecture.
This includes the ability to set-up, acquire, and manage research projects.
The successful candidate is expected to contribute to the curriculum in the study programs provided by the faculty on
computer science and electrical engineering.
Successful applicants must fulfill the requirements for appointment at the professor level in compliance
with § 102a BerlHG (Berlin Higher Education Act), including a completed academic education in computer science, computer
engineering, or electrical engineering, qualified achievements in research and a particular qualification for academic
work normally attested by the excellent Quality of a PhD, and pedagogical didactic qualifications, to be proven by
teaching experience and visualized in a teaching Portfolio (for further information see TUB Website, quick as no.
Additionally the applicants need to have profound knowledge in the stated working fields, experience in international
research cooperation (proved by stays abroad or significant participation in international projects).
- Profound knowledge and experience in at least one of the following topics: distributed systems, Internet of Things,
- Ability and willingness for interdisciplinary research with groups with research focus on for example engineering and
- Excellent research record through research activities and publications in recognized international media
- Teaching experience
If the candidate was employed as a research assistant before or after the completion of a PhD, the total period of PhD
and employment combined must not have exceeded six years.
