Footprint ‘s mission is to empower people to understand and improve their climate impact on their daily journey. We create an app to support users in their daily habits, understand their climate impact and offer guidance on how to improve. As a member of the team you would help to drive impact for a more sustainable future with this initative.

We are a global team collaborating in a fully remote working structure. Most of us are based in Munich, Germany, but we have team members around the world. We currently have a life prototype and are growing our team. 
 

YOUR THESIS: Develop a Dynamic Carbon Footprint Calculation model

Develop a model to calculate the average carbon footprint of individuals. The model will serve as an input for the Footprint App. You will be able to build on our current advancements and will collaborate with other researcher, UI/UX Design and development to complete the model. With the dynamic model, several of possible research questions could be addressed.

• Create Impact: Apply your talent and knowledge to create something which really matters. We are in a climate crisis and you will contribute to address it.
• Research meets product development: Our set-up perfectly enables you to combine academic research with real world application and high practical relevance for the operation.
• Be part of the team: Gain experience in working in a startup. Learn what it means to create a project from scratch and how to work in a digital remote company. You will losely collaborate with the team. .
• Combine strength: Sometimes it really helps to talk to peers on how they solve their problems, in particular to peers in the same research area. As there will be several research projects in parallel and you will gain access to this mini community and you can profit by the help, support and experience of each other.
• Be location independent: You can work from wherever you want, there is no need to be physically present. You will gain experience in operating in a fully remote and digital working structure. We are based in Munich, Germany. If you live close by or want to Munich, we are of course more than happy to meet in person (but it’s not a requirement).
• What we can’t currently offer: We are currently not earning financial income with this project, therfore we currently unable to offer any financial support
