The Department of Nutrition and Food Sciences, Nutritional Epidemiology of Bonn University invites applications for a position as
PhD student (f/m/d) (50%)
The position is starting from 1st of October and is limited to three years.
The Nutritional Epidemiology Group heads the DONALD study (Dortmund
Nutrition and Anthropometric Longitudinally Designed Study), an open cohort
study from infancy to adulthood, and is involved in the establishment of
different cohort studies with adults. Moreover, the Nutritional Epidemiology
Group coordinates a competence cluster in nutrition research that investigates
the role of diet in cognitive development and cognitive decline across the
lifespan (www.diet-body-brain.de). Research in the Nutritional Epidemiology
Group focusses on dietary assessment methods in epidemiological studies,
and the investigation of diet and lifestyle as risk factors for chronic diseases.
Research in the field of diet and metabolome;
Presentations of research results;
Preparation of manuscripts for publication in international journals;
Support in teaching activities.
Training in nutritional, medical, public health sciences or in a related field,
Master‘s degree or equivalent;
Training in epidemiology or public health desirable;
Working experience with epidemiological data desirable;
Working experience with statistical analysis software (SAS, R) and analysis
of complex data;
Excellent communication and writing skills in the English language,
proficiency in German desirable;
Well-organized team player;
Very good communication and presentation skills.
