Part-time | Temporary |Hamburg Eppendorf for several institutes and clinics

Better together. For life.

At the UKE, we are convinced that successful and fulfilling work should be harmonised with the personal needs and individual life plans of all employees.
Together we can make this possible. Every day a little more. Every day a little better.
We are the UKE – the University Medical Centre Hamburg-Eppendorf [Universitätsklinikum Hamburg-Eppendorf]. A pulsating centre of health in the heart of Hamburg. When you are surrounded by that much energy and when progress sets the pace, no two days are the same. More than 14,100 employees with very different responsibilities are united by the same goal: ensuring health and well-being.

What to expect

We are the UKE – the University Medical Centre Hamburg-Eppendorf [Universitätsklinikum Hamburg-Eppendorf]. A pulsating centre of health in the heart of Hamburg. When you are surrounded by that much energy and when progress sets the pace, no two days are the same. More than 14,100 employees with very different responsibilities are united by the same goal: ensuring health and well-being.

Basic and clinical scientists form functional and interacting research units at the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf and successfully launched the Collaborative Research Center 1328 "Adenine Nucleotides in Immunity and Inflammation" in 2018. Starting July 01, 2022, SFB1328 will enter its 2nd funding period and we are looking for dedicated colleagues in the fields of Biochemistry, Cell Biology or Immunology to strengthen our ambitious Collaborative Research Center (SFB) 1328. The doctoral position is to be filled for four years until June 30, 2026.

The main goal of SFB1328 "Adenine nucleotides in immunity and inflammation" is to improve our understanding of the regulatory role of adenine nucleotides in the context of inflammatory diseases. Extracellular and intracellular adenine nucleotides control all central processes in biology and medicine. They are essential and ubiquitous signaling molecules involved in the regulation of universal cellular processes, in particular (i) cell-cell communication and (ii) intracellular signal transduction. The specific goals of SFB1328 will be achieved through analyses of the balance between pro- and anti-inflammatory processes by extracellular adenine nucleotides, ecto-nucleotidases and purinergic receptors, as well as AN-driven intracellular calcium and cAMP signaling.

  • Conduct and evaluate difficult and laborious, often highly collaborative experimental studies in biochemistry, cell biology and immunolog, partially basic research, but with close translational clinical relevance.
  • Participation in the planning and conception of experimental studies, including planning of collaborations within the SFB, as well as with national and international partners.
  • Presentation of experimental results at internal events and at biomedical congresses
  • Participation in the preparation of scientific publications
Please indicate your projekt preference.
