The Halle Institute for Economic Research (IWH) – Member of the Leibniz Association is offering a
Post Doc Position (100%) (f/m)
at the Department of Financial Markets department (Professor Dr Michael Koetter), starting on January 1, 2017.
The contract will initially be limited to three years. The place of employment is Halle (Saale).

offers excellent opportunities to gain academic qualifications. You will conduct own research in the fields
of financial systems, banking and the effects of unconventional monetary policy actions with the goal to publish
in top journals. In the context of existing agreements with collaborating universities, there is the possibility
to gain teaching experience.
Your profile/Your motivation:
You have an excellent background in financial
economics and applied microeconometrics. You are interested in topics related to finance and growth, banking regulation,
and relationship banking. You are experienced with contemporary econometric and statistical methods to identify
causal effects empirically. You also have a record of innovative research papers that aim to be published in top
general interest and field journals of economics and finance. You are able to comprehend complex issues and communicate
them in a structured way. You like to work in an international team and are interested also transporting the policy
implications of scientific research to society.
What we expect:
You have successfully completed your PhD in economics or
finance with excellent results or are close to it. You demonstrated a strong interest in empirical research and
will conduct research independently. You contribute to linking the department with the national and international
scientific community, cooperating with other IWH departments, and supporting PhD students.
