PostDoc (f/m/d) for the Research Group in the field of Hodgkin lymphoma
As a modern maximum-care hospital with a capacity of approximately 1,540 beds, the University Hospital of Cologne is dedicated to the practice of innovative academic medical excellence. At the Faculty of Medicine 1,800 scientists are engaged in research, ranging from basic sciences to clinical application, as well as teaching and health care. Together with the University Hospital Cologne the faculty maintains 58 clinics, research institutes and centres. 3,400 students study in this dynamic and innovative environment. The Faculty of Medicine and the University Hospital Cologne are embedded in the scientifically highly active Rhine region. They have strong contacts to and alliances with the surrounding universities and non-university research institutions guaranteeing scientific excellence in research and teaching.
As part of a recently funded DFG third-party project we are currently seeking applications for a full-time
to be employed under a limited-time. The position will initially be limited to a 20-month contract (WissZeitVG – third-party funded project) with the possibility of extension.
The position is available in the research group headed by Dr. Sven Borchmann in close collaboration with the German Hodgkin Study Group (GHSG), chaired by Prof. Dr. med. A. Engert, the world‘s leading research group in the field of Hodgkin lymphoma. Major parts of the research program focus on liquid biopsies and minimal residual disease diagnostics in lymphoma and other cancers as well as novel immunotherapy approaches in cancer.
Your responsibilities will include:
Conduct research of significant scientific value
Publish in peer-reviewed, scientific, high-impact journals
Work on grant applications for funding of research projects
Foster new international collaborations with academic and industry partners
Ph.D., M.D. or equivalent
Experience and relevant publications in one or more relevant areas (e. g., liquid biopsies, cancer genomics, lymphoma research, immunotherapy)
Excellent communication skills
Strong team spirit
High motivation to solve complex problems creatively and independently
Work in an international, multidisciplinary and innovative environment

Your salary will be based on TV-L.
