Research (CESR), announces the position of a
Full-time position, as early as possible, first limited until
29.02.2020, with intention of extending the contract (position
for academic qualification corresponding to § 65 HHG i. V. m.
§ 2 Abs. 1 Satz 1 WissZeitVG).
Tasks:
Research and publication on conceptual and operational
approaches to assess sustainability of natural resource use at
different scales in order to derive orientation values for safe
operating space. Research in the SYMOBIO project on Systemic
Monitoring and Modelling of the Bioeconomy and assistance to
project coordination. The project develops a system for multiscale
analysis and sustainability assessment of the bioeconomy
in Germany and beyond. Material flow models, input-output
data bases, economic models and models of land and water
use are combined. Global footprints are determined for land,
water, timber and GHG emissions and related to socio-economic
performance. The position analyses options to further qualify and
quantify those footprints with regard to environmental risks in
order to derive science-based targets for decision making.
Requirements:
- Doctorate in natural sciences, environmental engineering or
economics with environmental profile,
- Interest in applied and interdisciplinary research
- Conceptual thinking
- Experience with quantitative methods (modelling and
simulation, LCA, MFA)
- Experience with project management
- Capacity for teamwork and cooperative attitude
- Disposition to contribute to project acquisition
- Interest in scientific publicizing and lecturing
- Strong communication and excellent command of English,
preferably also of German
The Center for Environmental Systems Research (CESR) is an
interdisciplinary research institute and analyzes and models
Human-Environment-Systems. The position is in the Sustainable
Resource Futures Group which develops concepts, strategies and
tools for sustainable resource management at multiple scales.
