PostDoc/Senior Researcher Artificial Intelligence (w/m/d)

Salzburg University of Applied Sciences employs around 400 people across its Urstein, Kuchl, Uniklinikum Salzburg and Schwarzach campuses. There are 3200 students who have a choice of 18 bachelor and 12 master programmes in the faculties Applied Social Sciences, Business and Tourism, Creative Technologies, Health Sciences, Green Engineering and Circular Design and Information Technologies and Digitalisation.

The Josef Ressel Centre on Intelligent and Secure Industrial Automation is a research center at the Salzburg University of Applied Sciences with three research fields: artificial intelligence, cyber security and system architectures for industrial control systems. It is funded for five years until mid 2027 with 2.5 Mio EUR, with a long-term strategy beyond that.

For the field of artificial intelligence we are happy receive applications for a postdoctoral researcher.

Tasks

• Original research in the larger domain of artificial intelligence, in particular machine learning.
• Scientific dissemination and publication in journal and conferences
• Bridging a gap between basic and applied research
• Implementing software towards the above goals
• Mentoring and supervising students affiliated with the research project

Profile

• A doctoral degree in the fields of Computer Science or Mathematics;
• Depending on the background also a degree in Electrical Engineering or similar is welcome
• A research track in the larger context of artificial intelligence, such as machine learning, data science or computer vision;
• Minimum 3 years of relevant research experience
• Ability to collaborate in an interdisciplinary research team
• Taking over the lead over this research field with the research center is appreciated.
• A background in industrial control systems is not necessary
• Working knowledge in German is not necessary

Schedule: 40h per week
Duration: 1.7.2022 – 30.06.2027, flexible start
Salary: 56861 EUR per year (14× 4061.50 EUR), FWF salaries
