The German Center for Neurodegenerative Diseases (DZNE) investigates the
causes of diseases of the nervous system and develops strategies for prevention,
treatment and care. It is an institution within the Helmholtz Association
of German Research Centres with nine sites across Germany (Berlin, Bonn,
Dresden, Göttingen, Magdeburg, Munich, Rostock/Greifswald, Tübingen and
Witten). The DZNE cooperates closely with universities, their clinics and other
The DZNE in Bonn offers a position as
Postdoctoral researcher (f/m)
within the group of Dr. Ehninger at the DZNE site Bonn.
Our group is interested in molecular and cellular mechanisms that contribute
to neuropsychiatric and aging-associated disorders. To this end, we employ
mouse models and multidisciplinary experimental approaches that combine
behavioral neuroscience tools with genomics and epigenomics, biochemistry,
molecular and cell biology, as well as neurophysiology. The group is also interested
in translating findings from preclinical models to human populations.
We offer committed mentorship, exciting research projects, an excellent scientific
environment in a major center for translational neuroscience research, state-ofthe-
art facilities and good funding. Selected references: Nat Med 2008, 14:843-8;

of biology (e.g., neurobiology, molecular biology, behavioral neuroscience,
neurophysiology or in vivo imaging), epigenomics or bioinformatics are particularly
encouraged to apply. Fluency in English, good communication skills
and capacity for teamwork are necessary.
