Your tasks

Among several other strategic interventions, the university is currently driving an ambitious expansion of digital sciences across its academic and scientific programs and activities, underpinned by significant new investments in personnel, research and relevant scientific equipment. This initiative is intended to improve integration and interdisciplinarity across the three schools in teaching, learning and research. In this context, a new academic position has been opened in Computer Science.

In this position, you will support our research and teaching activities in the field of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, with specific focus on one or more of the following fields:

• Machine Learning
• Deep Learning 
• Big Data, Data Analytics
  
  

You are also expected to contribute to the development and implementation of innovative, pedagogically sound approaches to online, hybrid and in-person teaching and learning; advise students on their studies; and supervise Bachelor, Master’s and PhD theses and research projects.

Your profile

• PhD degree in Computer Science, Data Science or a related discipline
• Strong publication record related to data science in the relevant field of specialization
• Experience and success in teaching in the context of international and diverse environments
• Demonstrable interest in innovative teaching and learning approaches
• Track record of successful acquisition of research funding
• Experience in transferring research knowledge to solving problems in engineering and science
• Responsible, self-motivated person able to work independently and as a part of a team
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Fluency in English, the language of instruction and communication on campus
  Intercultural experience and competence
