Your tasks
Modern genetic engineering enables the targeted manipulation of cells to produce active substances or map disease models. The Institute for Chemistry and
Bioanalytics aims to expand teaching and research activities in this area.
The job:
setting up and managing an independent research group
applied research in molecular and cell biology, focused on cell development for assays and disease models
development and production of active substances using cellular engineering and biotechnology methods
promoting collaboration within the university and joint research with regional, national and international industrial and academic partners
active participation in professional networks, at conferences, as well as publishing scientific articles in order to increase the visibility of the university in the scientific and industrial community
dedicated contribution to teaching at the School of Life Sciences, with clear links to your research and to the university's goals
Your profile
You have wide-ranging and in-depth expertise in the field of cell engineering. Additionally, you share our enthusiasm for teaching and supervising students as well as for working with your colleagues, other staff and project partners.
We expect:
PhD and first-rate knowledge in molecular biology, cell biology, systems biology or related fields
outstanding track record in applied research, ideally with at least 5 years of industry experience in staff and project management
higher education teaching qualification or willingness to acquire this during the first years of employment
good written and spoken English and German language skills
keen interest in diverse issues in the field of life sciences
