Bard College Berlin is a liberal arts university recognized (since 2011) by the state of Berlin and accredited at federal level (since 2017) by the Wissenschaftsrat. It is also affiliated with Bard College Annandale in the United States, and awards German and US-accredited BA degrees in the Humanities, Social Sciences, and the Arts.
The successful candidate will contribute to the economics component of an interdisciplinary liberal arts BA taught in small-group seminar format that includes the study of politics and an integrated core program.
Bard College Berlin’s academic calendar comprises two semesters, each of 14 weeks. Professors teach 2 courses in one semester, and 3 in the other (with each course consisting of 2 sessions of 90 minutes per week).
An initial contract will extend for two years. Appointment requirements are governed by §100 of the Berlin University Law (Berliner Hochschulgesetz).

Candidates should pursue quantitative research in development economics or economic policy (an interest in macroeconomics is an advantage), and be able to teach a range of undergraduate classes, e.g., foundational methods courses such as mathematics for economics.
