Faculty of Science, Institute of Nutritional Science at the University of Potsdam invites applications for the following position to be filled as soon as possible:
Professorship (W2) for Food Chemistry
Applicants should be internationally renowned with a strong background in food chemistry, preferably with a focus on instrumental analytics and/or in related areas of life science/toxicology. Applicants should demonstrate successful third-party funding and an excellent publication record in line with his or her academic age. The research area should complement the current research focus of the Institute of Nutritional Science on “Molecular Mechanisms of Nutrition-Dependent Homeostasis and Dysfunction.” Ideally, the research area should enable collaborations with the Leibniz Institute ‘German Institute for Human Nutrition (DIfE)’ and with the Institutes for Chemistry as well as Biochemistry & Biology at the University of Potsdam. Leadership experience and experience in the coordination of research projects is desirable but not a requirement.
With respect to academic teaching, the successful candidate should be able to fully cover the syllabus
of the subject of food chemistry and food safety in the bachelor’s and master’s degree programs in
Nutritional Science and in the international master’s degree program, ‘Master of Toxicology.’
