In the Department of Computer Science at Paderborn University, which is part
of the Faculty of Computer Science, Electrical Engineering and Mathematics,
the following position is to be filled as soon as possible:
Professorship (W 2) for Human-Computer Interaction (HCI)
Paderborn University invites applications for a position (W 2, professorship) in
Human-Computer Interaction (HCI). We seek to attract applications from outstanding
candidates with experience in one or several areas of Human-Computer
Interaction, such as augmented reality, socio-centric HCI, digital assistance,
information visualization, personalization and user adaptation, or HCI for
embedded systems. We expect experience in interdisciplinary research,
for example in cooperation with engineering sciences in industrial applications,
in Digital Humanities, or with social sciences in the area of socio-technical
The selected applicant is expected to represent the area in both research
and teaching (undergraduate and graduate courses) as well as to create an
independent research group on HCI. We emphasize cooperation both within
and without the Institute of Computer Science and offer many opportunities
for inter- and cross-disciplinary activities, for example in the area of
Cyber-Physical Social Systems. Paderborn University offers many opportunities
for doing cooperative projects, for example in the context of the
Collaborative Research Center "On-the-fly computing" (CRC901), the Software
Innovation Campus (SICP), or the Heinz Nixdorf Institute.

of NRW - (completed university degree, pedagogical aptitude, Ph.D. degree and
additional research achievements).
