The Institute of Education (IfE) of the Faculty of Educational and Social Science (FB 6) at the University of Münster (WWU), Germany, seeks to fill the position of a
W2-level professorship in Educational Science with specialisation in Adult Education and Pedagogical Professionalism
not earlier than 08/01/2022.
The professorship is assigned to the area of Adult Education/Continuing Education within the Institute of Education (IfE). The prospective appointee shall represent the spectrum of research and teaching in the area of adult education and pedagogical professionalism at the intersection of theory, empiricism and practice.
Furthermore, the candidate should possess substantial expertise in at least two of the following fields:
- (digital) teaching and learning in adolescence and adulthood
- methodical-didactic development of (digitally) organised and/or informal teaching-learning processes in adolescence and adulthood
- adult pedagogical coaching and counselling
- professionalisation of adult education and extracurricular adolescent education
We expect the candidate to have an empirical research orientation and experience in applying for and procuring third-party funding. The candidate’s teaching duties include holding courses which mainly focus on the microlevel of adult education and pedagogical professionalism in the non-teaching degree programmes offered at the IfE. Other duties include advising students during adult-education practical phases, administering examinations and participating in academic self-administration.
To be considered for this position, candidates must have:
- an above-average, thematically relevant university degree,
- an outstanding doctoral degree in educational science (magna cum laude or better),
- excellent academic achievement in the abovementioned subject areas, obtained through an assistant professorship (Juniorprofessur), habilitation (postdoctoral qualification), as a member of the academic staff of a university or non-university research institute, or in a research position in business, industry, administration or another relevant field in Germany or abroad,
- aptitude in higher-education didactics and a willingness to hold courses in English and German.
