Professorship (W2) of English Business Communication
The Faculty of Business Administration is seeking to appoint a Professor of English Business Communication for the Winter semester 2020/21 or later.
The successful candidate should have both professional business experience and teaching experience and be passionate about transferring knowledge in
the context of international business and communication.
W2 Professor of English Business Communication (m/f/d)
You will teach Business English language modules for economics, macroeconomics and business administration including digitally mediated communication for
undergraduate and graduate business study. Based on your expertise in English language business communication and professional experience, you will contribute
to the development of curricula and research in these fields and course management as required. The role further requires actively fostering relationships and
exchange with international partner universities, supporting students in their preparation for study abroad/international work experience, and contributing to
research projects with industry and business. You may also be required to teach modules in related fields and other faculties.
Completed first degree in linguistics, modern languages, business studies or comparable
At least 3 years of teaching experience in Business English in higher education or comparable
Experience in developing curricula and teaching material for Business English particularly for digitally mediated communication
Teaching competence and pedagogical aptitude. Suitable candidates will be invited to give a sample lecture.
Knowledge of economic and macroeconomic theory and policy
English language skills at native speaker level
German language skills at native speaker level
Expertise in academic research as proven by a doctoral degree or comparable academic qualification in a relevant discipline
At least 5 years of professional experience after graduation with a first degree of which at least 3 years must be in a field outside education or training
Research experience in Business Administration, linguistics and/or digitally mediated communication, proven by the publication of academic books and/or articles
Desirable: teaching experience in internationally recognized Business English certification
Desirable: teaching experience in intercultural communication theory
Desirable: a third language at C1 level
