HISTORICAL INSTITUTE I ATTHE EARLIEST OPPORTUNITY
This Endowed Chair is encouraged by the Ferry-Porsche-Stiftung with
support of the Stifterverband.
The professorship is funded by the Ferry-Porsche-Stiftung with
support of the Stifterverband für die DeutscheWissenschaft.
The professorship will examine the history of entrepreneurs and
companies on an international and national level.The endowed Chair
will integrate entrepreneurial into general economic history as well
as establish relations to global, technological, cultural, family and
gender history. Cross-faculty cooperation in research is essential. It
is expected that the Chair will work closely with the professorships
„History of the effects of technology“ and „History of natural sciences
and technology“ as well as with the economic and social sciences
at the university. Furthermore, participation in the activities of the
„International Centre for Cultural and Technological Research“
(IZKT) of the University of Stuttgart and in the research areas of
the Historical Institute and the School of Humanities is expected.
Postdoctoral qualifications or habilitation-adequate achievements in
the field of history are required (i.e., 2nd book published).
In teaching, the professorship will also offer courses in the field of
general history and thus supplement the courses and examinations
offered at the Historical Institute.
It is expected that the holder of the professorship has excellent
German language skills, which allow him to hold courses and
examinations in German.
The requirements for employment listed in § 47 and § 50 Baden-
Württemberg university law apply.
