Scope of duties
Applications are invited for a Post-Doc position at the Endocrine Research Labs of the Medical Department IV / University of Munich on the transregional CRC / TRR 205. The Adrenal: Central Relay in Health and Disease funded by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG). In a unique effort, top level researchers and doctors of the University Hospitals of Munich, Dresden and Würzburg as well as the Helmholtz Zentrum Munich will promote the understanding of humoral and molecular mechanisms of adrenal diseases and develop improved diagnostic and therapeutic approaches.
The Post-Doc will be joining a highly motivated team of researchers at the LMU Klinikum and the Helmholtz Zentrum München studying the protein stability in congenital adrenal hyperplasia, one of the most common inborn metabolic disorders. The successful applicant will be expected to attend and present his / her data at national and international scientific conferences. The specific project will be in cooperation with the research group of Dr. Kamyar Hadian at the Helmholtz Zentrum München. The main task will be the development of a screening assay to screen a library of pharmacological substances to enhance CYP21A2 stability. For assay development and screening, your workplace will be mainly located at the Helmholtz Zentrum München. Subsequent validation of confirmed screening hits in enzyme activity assays in cell culture will be performed at the Campus Innenstadt of the LMU Klinikum.
Our requirements
- M. Sc. degree or equivalent and PhD in biochemistry or a biological discipline with essential knowledge of good clinical research
- Proven experience in protein biochemistry and analysis (protein expression and purification, protein halflife, co-immunoprecipitation, thermal shift assay, isothermal titration calorimetry, CD)
- Strong experience in cell culture techniques (culturing, transfection, etc.)
- Immunofluorescence
- Molecular biology (genotyping, cloning, site-directed mutagenesis)
- Experience in screening techniques (biochemical or high-content-screening) is a plus
- Preparation of publications and lectures
