Research Associate (f/m/d)
(100 %, remuneration group 13 TV-L)
limited until 30.11.2022, with the option of contract extension.
Area of Research: The lab researches on various projects in the field of energy, agricultural and automation systems. Problems related to efficient and sustainable production in recirculating systems are of particular interest. These problems are addressed with various methods from the area of optimization-based control and the identification of uncertain, nonlinear systems are used for energy and resource-efficient coupling of the subsystems. Due to the widespread of tasks, there is plenty of room for your own ideas and solutions. We therefor offer well-equipped and new offices, laboratories and IT-facilities as an ideal research environment.
Job and Project Descriptions: Your area of responsibility includes dealing with questions in the context mentioned above. Especially in the area of modeling and control of biotechnological and agricultural systems with the aim of efficient and sustainable production, as well as supporting students in these projects. Both theoretical and experimental tasks can be pursued according to individual interests and tested in cooperation with research and industrial partners. You will work on research projects and aim for publications of your results in reputed journals and participate at international conferences. The project results are also used as part of courses offered at the university. Postdocs will have the opportunity to become a team leader and build up their own research group and/or supervise PhD students in the Lab.
Your Profile:
- completed academic studies (Ph.D., diploma or master's degree) in the field of Biosystems engineering, cybernetics, automation engineering, bioprocess engineering or comparable disciplines with access to the appropriate qualification level
- sound knowledge in the area of control engineering as well as modelling of biological systems and identification of dynamical systems
- strong subject-related knowledge
- good English skills; knowledge of German is an advantage
- ability to work in an interdisciplinary team and good self-organization skills
