Lecturer and Advisor (m/f/d) Studium Individuale
(salary group EG 13 TV-L)
start immediately, fixed term for three years, with the possibility of extension for up to a further three years.
The Studium Individuale at Leuphana College is an individualized programme of study (Bachelor of Arts) offering a contemporary liberal education. It centres on the intellectual engagement
with questions of contemporary relevance, the personal development of each student through purposeful explorations and choices. It cooperates with like-minded programmes throughout the world,
in particular in the USA and the Netherlands. The programme is taught in English.
Your tasks:
- Teaching in the core modules of the “Studium Individuale” (equivalent of 135-minute weekly sessions)
- Contribute to course and curricular development through relevant research (international and national)
- Contribute to the development and practice of student advising
- Take on managerial and administrative tasks
- Design and support co-curricular activities
- Participation in international networks and development of international project tenders
- Own academic career development and further qualification in the field of liberal education or higher education research (habilitation or habilitation-equivalent tasks)
Your profile:
- Completed academic university degree
- A PhD preferably in the fields of humanities, social sciences or sustainability science (or evidence of being close to completion)
- Genuine interest, and preferably experience, in teaching and in course development
- Evidence of a broad, interdisciplinary approach to education and readiness to teach outside your discipline
- Enthusiasm to work with undergraduate students
- Near-native level of English
- International experience
- Experience in managerial work
- Familiarity with, if not personal experience of, a liberal education/LAS degree
