What to expect
Work within a research team with experience and infrastructure for the planned analyses in the UHZ in close cooperation with the UKE and the UKE's Information Technology division
Active contribution to research projects based on this platform with national and international partners, including data management and analysis
Statistical evaluation of data as well as collaboration in the preparation of scientific publications and funding applications, including documentation of research results
Training on the job in advanced analytical techniques
Access to, and collaboration with, data scientists and statisticians in UKE and at our collaboration partners
An environment that enables career progression
What we would like you to bring
A university degree (diploma or MSc) in computer science, bioinformatics or medical informatics or comparable experience and skills
Ideally relevant experience in the analysis of large databases or with methods of big data analysis
Ideally: relevant experience in IT projects for medical departments and/or research areas
Experience in the following areas is an advantage:
Research databases
Technical and semantic integration of medical data
Communication standards (HL7, IHE, FHIR etc.)
IT security
Data protection
Statistical analysis software packages
Advanced interrogation of large data sets
Genomic analysis
Very good communication skills in written and spoken English
Strong ability to analyze complex issues, organizational skills, willingness to cooperate and sense of responsibility
Willingness to travel occasionally (congresses and project meetings)

This position is to be filled as soon as possible for an initial period of three years. An extension is planned. This position can also be filled on a part-time basis.
The focus of our work is the development of a research platform based on our digital patient record, which enables exceptional research in addition to excellent clinical care. A key focus is the analysis of large, deeply phenotyped existing databases and integration of additional information, such as genomic data and biomarker, to determine novel predictors of cardiovascular outcomes.
