Helmholtz-Zentrum für
Umweltforschung GmbH – UFZ
Permoserstraße 15
04318 Leipzig
The Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research (UFZ) with its 1,100 employees has gained an excellent reputation as an international competence centre for environmental sciences. We are part of the largest scientific organisation in Germany, the Helmholtz Association. Our mission: Our research seeks to find a balance between social development and the long-term protection of our natural resources.
The Department of Computational Landscape Ecology (www.ufz.de/cle) investigates the effects of changes in land use and landscape structure on biodiversity, ecosystem functions and services. For this purpose, we combine a wide range of methods such as ecological and biogeographical modelling, applied (geo)statistics and fieldwork. Our research aims at a better understanding and improved modelling of basic relationships between landscape patterns and processes, but is also closely related to applied questions of resource management and nature conservation. We are looking forward to a colleague who would like to contribute their own ideas and initiatives to our research and who enjoys working in an open-minded, international and creative team. Therefore we invite applications for a
