We seek a researcher who is interested in obtaining a PhD and would like to work in an interdisciplinary team that interlinks social and natural sciences. The candidate will work on the dynamics of use and regulations of ecosystem services provided by Green Infrastructure along an urban-rural gradient. Strong qualitative and quantitative skills in empirical social research are required. A background in one of the following areas is desirable: Human Geography, Political Science, Environmental Sciences, or a related field. The research work is part of the collaboration with the Senckenberg Biodiversity and Climate Research Centre BiK-F as well as a project of researchers from Germany, France, Belgium, Eastland, and Norway. Thus, excellent written and spoken English and German are mandatory. Willingness to work in an interdisciplinary team is also required. Knowledge of the Ecosystem Services concept incl. trade-offs in managing ecosystem services would be beneficial. Our aim is to provide the candidate with the possibility to work on a PhD thesis based on the project’s topics.
■ Master‘s degree in Human Geography, Political Science, Environmental Sciences, or a re-lated field. The master‘s thesis must have been submitted before the application deadline. A prerequisite for taking up the position is the successful completion of a master‘s degree.

Salary and benefits are equivalent to a public service position in Germany (TV-H E 13). The position will be part-time (65%) for 3 years. ISOE is an equal opportunity employer.
