RMI PROFESSORSHIP FOR STRATEGY AND ORGANIZATION AT REINHARD-MOHN INSTITUTE FOR CORPORATE MANAGEMENT
Faculty of Economics - RMI Professorship for Strategy and Organization at the Reinhard Mohn Institute for Corporate Management
The University of Witten/Herdecke is a non-profit university and focuses its research and teaching activities on the areas of
economy, health and culture as well as on the interfaces between these subject areas.
The "RMI Professorship for Strategy and Organization" at the Reinhard Mohn Institute (RMI) for Corporate Management is to be filled at
the Faculty of Economics at the earliest opportunity.
Since its establishment in 2010, the Bertelsmann Stiftung has financed and supported the RMI. It works in the spirit of the participatory
and responsible management philosophy of the founder Reinhard Mohn and provides significant national and international impulses for a reform
of the theory and practice of corporate management through research, teaching and practical dialogue. In addition to the professorship
advertised here, the RMI also includes the Reinhard Mohn Endowed Chair of Corporate Management (Univ.-Prof. Dr. Guido Möllering) and a
research professorship for leadership (Univ.-Prof. Dr. Günther Ortmann). Among the RMI’s current focal points are: Cooperative relationships,
network and alliance strategies, management of openness and transparency, trust in and between organizations, new forms of leadership and
work in the digital age and corporate responsibility.
AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY
The holder (f/m) of the RMI Chair of Strategic Organization represents business administration, in particular strategic management and organization,
with an emphasis on the interactions between these areas. He/she brings in a scientific profile that strengthens the orientation of the RMI described
above. Simultaneously, it is expected that the job holder will specifically expand the profile through her/his own specialization. As an integral
part of the institute, the RMI professorship contributes significantly to its program in research, teaching and practice dialogue.
We are looking for a leading researcher, team player and committed personality who
has proven her/his high research qualification through publications in leading international journals;
is characterized by methodical adeptness and openness;
actively participates in the faculty’s degree programs;
has a proven interest and experience in the transfer of theory and practice;
has experience in raising third-party funds;
fulfils the requirements for appointment to a professorship according to §36 University Law NRW;
uses innovative, interactive teaching concepts that foster student self-responsibility and participation;
enjoys teaching in English;
shows high presence at the university (4 days/week).
