Science Manager (m/f/d)
The Chair for AI in Healthcare and Medicine (www.aim-lab.io) at the Technical University of Munich invites applications for a Science Manager with a strong background or interest in project management, organization and ideally expertise in Computer Science and Engineering applied to Healthcare and Medicine.
The Chair is based at the TUM Campus Klinikum rechts der Isar as well as at the TUM Campus in Garching. The open science manager position is a key position in our strong interdisciplinary team of scientists and technical staff from the fields of artificial intelligence, bioengineering, computer science, imaging and sensing. The successful candidate will closely interact with all scientists and will be responsible for any pre-award and post-award grant management. The most important activities include:
- Preparation of an application to the DFG Excellence Initiative in the area of AI, imaging and sensing
- Management of the preparations for the DFG Excellence Initiative
- Management of the grants
- Preparation of financial and scientific reports
- Assistance in grant writing
- Organization of scientific events and meetings
- Human Resource Management in close cooperation with the administration team
- General administrative tasks and support for the Chair
Requirements
Candidates should hold a Master or PhD degree in natural sciences or engineering and ideally have a background and strong interest in the application of sciences and engineering approaches to medicine. Strong management and organizational skills and ideally experience in public or private research management and third-party grant management are required. The candidate must have excellent writing, communicational and interpersonal skills in English and ideally German. We are looking for a self-motivated and broadly interested individual with the ability to work independently as well as in a team.

You will work closely with an interdisciplinary team of scientists from artificial intelligence, bioengineering, computer science, imaging and sensing as well as clinicians to advance healthcare. The science manager position allows to actively participate in various different research projects.
