The Max Planck Society for the Advancement of Science (MPG) is a selfgoverning
scientific organization funded by the Federal and State Governments.
It conducts basic research in the field of natural sciences and the
humanities in a current total of 84 Institutes and research units in Germany
and abroad. The Biology and Medicine Section, the Chemistry, Physics
and Technology Section and the Human Sciences Section are looking for a
Scientific Scouting Officer (f/m)
for each Section to start as early as possible. The three positions are assigned
to the Section Offices in Department I "Institutes" in the Administrative
Supporting the Sections and their governing bodies in the systematic
identification of outstanding scientists
Analyzing candidate pools
Using various talent acquisition tools including internet sourcing, data
mining, social media, networking at national and international conferences,
and other creative methods to identify outstanding candidates
Designing, establishing and maintaining technical databases and statistics
University degree and doctorate preferably in one of the scientific disciplines
of the respective Section
General interest in a broad range of scientific subjects covered by the
Proven scientific track record and demonstrated knowledge of the respective
Capabilities and interest in getting familiar with new areas of research
Solution-oriented, service-driven and focussed style of work
In-depth knowledge of Office applications, social media, databases and
Business-level English, written and spoken (C1-C2)
Above-average level of motivation, sense of responsibility, communication
skills, initiative and organizational talent as well as excellent
networking skills and the ability to coordinate partners with diverse professional
Willingness to show flexibility in working hours and regular business

and the structure of the German research landscape. We are
offering you payment up to salary group 14 TVöD (Bund) as well as various
benefits as part of a 5-year fixed-term contract of employment (fulltime).
Your place of work will be in the centre of Munich and can be easily
reached by public transport. There are care facilities for children from 6
months to 3 years available near the office building.
