And then there was one: Eastern Switzerland University of
Applied Sciences (OST) is the joint continuation of the FHS
St.Gallen, HSR Rapperswil and NTB Buchs. We are at home in

The department «Advanced Materials & Processes» at the Institute of
Environmental and Process Engineering (UMTEC) deals with the development
and characterisation of novel catalytic systems and processes
and their integration in the energy and environmental sector. To work on
our interdisciplinary research projects at the Rapperswil campus, we are
looking for the following person with immediate effect or by agreement
Scientist (100 %)
with focus on material sciences for innovative catalytic systems and synthetic fuels
Your tasks:
- Development of new catalyst systems and their integration into
processes
- Synthesis of (nanostructured) materials
- Characterisation by means of common analytics (GC, MS, FTIR,
DRIFTS, TPX, XRD)
- Independent processing of current research projects including
communication
with project partners
- Project documentation (internal) and scientific publication (external)
- Supervision of students in the context of bachelor and master theses
Your qualification:
- University degree (Master) in materials science, chemistry or a
topic-relevant engineering science, preferably with a PhD
- Expertise in the fields of material & process analysis of heterogeneous
catalysts and/or synthesis of synthetic energy carriers
- Knowledge in working with nanostructured materials
- Publication and acquisition experience is of advantage
