The Department of Protein Evolution at the Max Planck Institute for Biology in Tübingen is seeking to fill a:
Senior Postdoctoral Position (f/m/div) in Protein Structure Determination
Candidates should hold a PhD in the natural sciences and have a proven record in the application of cryo-electron-microscopy (essential) and crystallography (desired) to the high resolution structure determination of biological macromolecules. An interest in membrane proteins and cell surfaces is welcomed. The position is intended to provide the department with cutting-edge competence in protein structure determination. It is suitable to start an independent group; independent publication and grant acquisition are encouraged.
Our department studies broadly the evolution of proteins by combining computational and experimental approaches, including bioinformatics, protein biochemistry, microbiology, and structural biology. The working language of the department is English.
