The Department of Behavioral and Cognitive Biology announces a position for a senior scientist on the topic of Behavioral Primatology. The advertised position is located at the Primate Research Station Landskron in Carinthia. The position is provisionally limited to four years with the possibility of subsequent unlimited employment.
We are currently looking for a highly talented and highly motivated senior scientist (post-doc) with a strong background in molecular behavioral primatology. In our research group we explore genetic basics on primate behavior. Teaching in the area of behavioral primatology (teaching assignment according to the collective bargaining agreement). Involvement in the department administrative tasks.
Completed Doctoral/PhD in Biology. The successful candidate meets the following criteria:
• Experiences in teaching molecular behavioral primatology, analytical expertise in molecular biological methods to analyze genetic data from fecal samples
• Experiences in macaque research
• Candidates should be able to manage a molecular biological field lab at the Affenberg
• Candidates should have a publication track record in the field of primatology and anthropology
Excellent command of written and spoken English, very good organization skills, very good presentation skills, precision and diligence in laboratory work, highest level of motivation, excellent teamwork skills. Good knowledge of statistic programs. Preferably 3 years of postdoctoral experience in field of research relevant to this position.
