Senior Scientist (f/m/d) in the field of T cell-immunobiology
RCI - Center for Interventional Immunology
The RCI - Regensburg Center for Interventional Immunology (foundation under public law) - is a novel biomedical research center focusing on translational immunology in the fields of cancer immunotherapy, transplant rejection and autoimmunity. The objective of the RCI is to develop effective immune therapeutic strategies in these areas.
The Chair for Functional Immune Cell Modulation (Prof. Dr. Luca Gattinoni) in the Regensburg Center for Interventional Immunology is recruiting a
Senior Scientist (all gender) reference number LG-2020-1
with proved experience in the field of T cell immunobiology and T cell engineering / editing.
The position is initially limited to three years with the possibility to be continued and is remunerated on the TV-L salary scale (EG 14 TV-L).
The senior scientist will be responsible for developing and conducting basic and translational studies in mouse models of T cell therapies. Projects will focus on the regulation of T cell self-renewal and multipotency by transcription factors, microRNAs and metabolic enzymes. Findings emerging from these studies will be used to enhance the efficacy of cancer immunotherapies based on the adoptive transfer of CAR- / TCR-engineered T cells.
Experiments will include:
Mouse models of adoptive immunotherapy and viral infection and in vivo bioluminescence studies
T cell-separation using the FACSorter and immunomagnetic beads
T cell-culturing and gene engineering / editing with viral and non-viral platforms
T cell-phenotypic and functional characterization using techniques including high dimensional flow cytometry (> 10 colors), proliferation assays, cytokine multiplex assays, cytotoxic assays, RT-PCR, immunoblot, bioenergetic studies with Seahorse analyzer, confocal and fluorescence microscopy and luciferase reporter assay
Sample preparations for omics analysis including RNA-seq, ChIP-seq, ATAC-seq, single cell RNA-seq and TCR-seq, metabolomics
Ideal candidates must have:
Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Immunology or a relevant discipline and more than five years of postdoctoral experience
Strong abilities to lead, manage and build teamwork to move forward projects
Extensive experience with mouse models and gene engineering / editing
Excellent publication record
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written in English
The RCI follows the goal of professional equality for all genders and therefore strongly encourages qualified women to apply. In addition, the RCI supports work-family balance.
The RCI is an equal opportunity employer and candidates with disabilities will be given preference, provided they are equally qualified.
If we have awakened your interest and you are open to new professional challenges, we would be delighted to receive an informative
application from you.
Please send your full application (including a statement of interest, curriculum vitae, certificates,
expected availability date, a list
of publications and two to three references) by E-Mail to Prof. Dr. Luca Gattinoni
Application deadline is May 31, 2020.
