Technical University of Munich (TUM) invites applications for the position of
Tenure Track Assistant Professor
in » Bioprocess Intensification «
to begin as soon as possible. The position is a W2 fixed-term (6 year) tenure-track professorship with the possibility for promotion to a tenured W3.
Scientific environment
The professorship will be assigned to the Department of Energy and Process Engineering at the TUM School of Engineering and Design and it is affiliated with the Integrative Research Institute (IRI) of Integrated Materials, Energy and Process Engineering (MEP).
Responsibilities
The responsibilities include research and teaching as well as the promotion of early-career scientists in the field of bioprocess engineering. We seek to appoint an expert in the research area of bioprocess intensification with a focus on whole cell catalysts such as microbial and animal cell lines for the production of macromolecules. The focus could for example be on new continuous or integrated concepts, parallelisation, or miniaturisation. Teaching responsibilities include courses in the university’s bachelor and master programs Industrial Biotechnology and Pharmaceutical Bioprocess Engineering.
Qualifications
We are looking for candidates who have demonstrated initial scientific achievements and the capacity for independent research at the highest international level. A university degree and an outstanding doctoral degree or equivalent scientific qualification, as well as pedagogical aptitude, are prerequisites.
