Tenure-Track-Professorship (W3) of Molecular Plant Biology

The Faculty of Science at the University of Tübingen, Department of Biology, Center for
Plant Molecular Biology (ZMBP), announces the opening of a new position:
Tenure-Track Professor of Molecular Plant Biology
The position is due to commence on January 1, 2021.
The holder of this professorship is expected to develop a competitive research program
in one or more of the Center for Plant Molecular Biology's central research areas with a
focus on molecular plant physiology. Further information at: www.zmbp.uni-tuebingen.de
The holder of this professorship will be expected to interact with the research units at
the Center for Plant Molecular Biology (ZMBP), to be actively involved in the further
development of the center, and to take on long-term responsibilities in teaching lower-level
plant physiology. The position has a teaching load of four hours per week prior to an
interim evaluation, and six hours thereafter. Interaction with other groups within the
University of Tübingen's Faculty of Science are also welcome.
The working group will benefit from the ZMBP's outstanding centralized service
units (administration, plant transformation, cytometry / FACS, greenhouses, analytics,
spectromicroscopy, IT support).
Required qualifications include an outstanding doctorate in a pertinent field, recognizable
potential for internationally acclaimed publications in leading international peer-reviewed
journals and third-party funding, as well as teaching experience.
Applicants for a tenure-track professorship with a PhD from Tübingen must have changed
universities after completing their doctorates or have worked in academia for at least two
years somewhere other than the University of Tübingen.
If the final evaluation after six years is positive, this professorship will be upgraded to
a full (W3) professorship with no re-advertising of the position. Detailed information on
