The Center for Molecular Biology (ZMB) was founded in 2007, centralizing all groups of the University of Vienna working in the field of molecular biology. To promote collaborations with the life sciences departments of the Medical University of Vienna, the Max Perutz Labs were founded in 2005. To extend our team we are offering the following position: University assistant post doc (m/w/d). Your activities will include: research on Meiosis and DNA repair in the group of Joao Matos https://www.maxperutzlabs.ac.at/research/research-groups/matos. Moreover, publishing in international journals and the attendance of scientific conferences. Area of responsibility: Developing and strengthening an independent research profile; Play an active role in the management of the laboratory; Application of new methods in the field of meiosis / DNA repair; Involvement in research projects and participation in scientific studies; Project applications and the acquisition of third-party funding; Preparing / writing a (publication-ready) habilitation thesis; Participation in evaluation measures and quality assurance; Involvement in the department administration; Teaching of junior group members and students. In addition, we expect the successful candidate to have: Publications in subject-relevant media (peer-reviewed, depending on the professional standards); Participation in international conferences and presentation experience. Desirable qualifications are: Expertise in proteomics methods; expertise in yeast genetics and cell biology; expertise in cell cycle or meiosis; Experience abroad.
You hold a doctoral degree in Biology. Your skills and expertise: experience in the use of the genetic model system S. cerevisiae (proteomics, genetics, biochemistry and cell biology); experience in the collection, evaluation and analysis of quantitative proteomics data, didactic competence; ability to present and discuss scientific data in English.
