We are a young, active and international team that is searching for a postdoctoral research assistant. Our group is part of the Department of Neurosciences and Developmental Biology within the Faculty of Life Sciences. We offer a creative and team-oriented work environment and an adequate salary.

Job grading in accordance with collective bargaining agreement: §48 VwGr. B1 lit. b (postdoc) with relevant work experience determining the assignment to a particular salary grade.
Job Description:
The task will be to develop the sea anemone Nematostella vectensis into a model organism to study the localization and function of the different neuronal cell populations. This requires expertise in molecular cloning, microinjection, fluorescence microscopy, imaging, gene perturbation and bioinformatic analyses of sequence data. Independent teaching of courses as defined by the collective agreement - Supervision of students - Participation in evaluation measures and quality assurance - Involvement in the department administration as well as in teaching and research administration. The position will be initially restricted to 1 year with the possibility of extension to 5 years upon positive evaluation.
Profile:
The successful candidate must hold a PhD in Biology and must have extensive experience in developmental biology, with a focus on the nervous system. He*She should have at least 1 year of postdoc experience abroad and acquired experience with different model systems, e.g. Drosophila, zebrafish and Nematostella.
