Within the laboratory directed by Prof. von Lilienfeld we develop new methods for the machine learning based acceleration of unbiased virtual compound space exploration campaigns based on quantum mechanics and statistical mechanics.
We are looking for a highly motivated scholar interested to join our group as a PhD student.

Active participation in research, teaching, and administration.
-developing and strengthening your independent research profile
-participation in research collaborations
-assistance in teaching
-participation in teaching and independent teaching of courses as defined by the collective agreement
- assistance in administration
-assistance in the supervision of Bachelor, Master, and PhD students
-participation in evaluation measures and quality assurance
We expect the successful candidate to sign a doctoral thesis agreement within 12-18 months, and to participate in the Vienna Doctoral School of Physics.
-Mandatory: Programming experience
-Desirable: Bachelor or Masterthesis in the field of atomistic simulation
-Experience with quantum chemistry methods
-Experience with chemical compound space
excellent command of written and spoken English
